Knights Win Crete Tournament
Bob Gross-Rhode Mount Michael ’87, President of Crete Legion baseball presents the championship plaque to Knight coach Brent Suing ’99 . Mount Michael defeated Crete 15-14 for the tournament championship in 8 innings. Ryan Degener and Kevin Jewell both homered for Mount Michael in the game. Mick Steier got the win in relief of Jonathan Collins .

Alum Knight Named to Summit League 1st Team
Mount Michael alumnus and UNO Maverick Clayton Taylor '11 was recently named to the Summit Leagues 1st Team.
Taylor a sophomore who started every game this season, led the Summit League in RBI (48) and total bases (112), and he was second in hits (64), doubles (17), home runs (nine) and slugging percentage (.599). He batted a team-best .342, led his team with 18 multi-hit and 12 multi-RBI games this season and also had a team-long 24-game reaching base streak. Taylor, a graduate of Mount Michael, was named Summit League Player of the Week on April 21.
Clayton Taylor was also named to the 2014 Academic All-District 7 Baseball Team.
He carries a 3.80 GPA in IT innovation with a minor in marketing. Taylor is a member of the honors program and the UNO Dean's List, and he is a UNO Scott Scholar for Engineering/Information Technology and a UNO Distinguished Scholar.
