Points of Emphasis
When speaking to a prospective student about Mount Michael it's important
that you share your personal stories and successes. These are the things
that make Mount Michael special for you.
At the same time, we hope you can share a few things that we know set
us apart from many other schools. Each of these Threer distinct qualities
is directly connected to our Benedictine values and heritage.
Our unique relationship to Mount Michael Abbey
- Most
Catholic school have at most one or two religious working at the school,
Mount Michael has an entire
monastic community whose presence is felt through out the day whether
in the classroom
or in the hallways the monks are deeply involved in the life of Mount
Michael Benedictine School.
High Academic Standards
- Rigorous
college prep curriculum - 100% of graduates go on to a four-year college.
- We
have the regions highest ACT scores with a class average of 27.5 over
the last 5 years
- Over
70% percent of seniors take Advanced Placement classes for which they
receive college credit. The majority
takes three or more.
- About
75% of Mount Michael graduates receive merit-based scholarships from
the college they choose to attend.
- Since
2000 Mount Michael has had over 20 students recognized as National Merit
Scholars and over 50 students
recognized as AP Scholars.
- Mount Michael is an excellent academic
experience and provides day, boarding (5 & 7 Day) for students of
all faiths and backgrounds.
Community
- Having
the monastic presence at Mount Michael constantly reminds our students
of the importance of God, their
family and their faith. The Benedictine environment serves as a tool
for showing our students how to live a balanced, well rounded life
for Christ
and others.
