Referral Process
Student Referral Process
While you may know the
value of a Mount Michael education, many families and young men simply
don’t know about “The Mount”. It has long been said
that Mount Michael Benedictine is the midwest’s best kept secret.
We would like that to change!
You can help make sure
that the families with sons in the 6th-8th grade that you know have a
chance to check out “The Mount” by referring them to the Admission
Office. Here ’s how:
1. Identify Prospective
Students
We are looking for names/information of prospective 6th-8th graders that
are well rounded, academically oriented students. Individuals that can help
maintain Mount Michael’s high standards and that you think would be
great candidates for Mount Michael. If the student is an 8th grader it is
important that you submit the name ASAP particularly by November 1st if
possible, although we appreciate any contact information you can provide.
2. Send us the Information
Please contact Mount Michael’s Admissions Director, Mr. Eric Crawford ’00,
at (402) 253-0946 or ecrawford@mountmichael.org. If you don’t know
all the information just tell us what you do know.
Include the
following information is very helpful:
Student’s Name:
Current School:
Current Grade:
Parent’s Names:
Home Address and/or email address:
Your Name/Graduation Year:
How do you know the prospective student:
3. Talk us up
Don't forget don’t forget to tell prospective students and families
about Mount Michael. We can mail brochures, provide our web site address,
set up tours, set up shadow days. Our most effective recruiting tool is
our alums. Your personal story will say more about the nature of “The
Mount” than anything we can do—short of having the student visit
the campus. *
4. Next steps
Once you've made the referral and talked to the student & family, the
Admission Office will begin our process of letting them know more about
Mount Michael Benedictine. Please note that The Mount Michael Admissions
office will begin corresponding with them as early as 2 weeks after you
make the referral.
*The single most influential part of the admission process is getting
students on campus for a visit.
