Mount Michael
Alumni Continue To Be Drawn Back To the Mount

Starting back in the mid 1980's alumni started returning to help out at the Mount. This fall sees more alumni returning to the Mount to assist and guide the student body in their pursuit of growth and excellence.

Tim Hall '03Returning to the Mount to help out while still taking a full load of classes at Creighton University is Tim Hall ’03. Tim serves as an assistant dean to the juniors and seniors and is the student council moderator. He also is available for tutoring. Tim says that adjusting to the sound of the school bells again was no problem because even after he left the Mount he could still “hear the bells’ for study hall, dinner, bed time, etc.

Tim has little free time in his life. If he is not at Mount Michael or attending classes at Creighton he is at his job at Merrill Lynch, running his DJ business T3H Productions, or studying! When he does get a chance though, he enjoys college football, reading, and spending time with his girlfriend. Tim also enjoys backpacking through Europe which he has done several times.

When asked what brings him back to the Mount Tim replied, “I’ve always had a deep respect for Mount Michael and the positive experience I had out here. The school gave me so much in four years and truly prepared me for college in a way that few others were. I felt obligated to give something back so others would be able to have similar experiences.” Tim hopes that by giving back to the Mount others will follow suit and do likewise.

Tim will graduate from Creighton University this coming May with majors in finance and history. His career goal is to join the financial elite on Wall Street after he passes his CFA exams.

Michael Roshone '01 has a long and strong family connection to the Mount. Michael considers that the Mount has been a part of his life since birth. His father George worked at the Mount for many years. According to Michael “It only seemed right to come back out here and work and help the young guys. Michael works as junior dean, JV tennis coach and freshman basketball coach. He is also the “Voice of Mount Michael” for the web casts during the basketball season. While working at Mount Michael he is also finishing up his college studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is taking one course each semester this school year and will graduate in May with a major in Broadcasting. Ultimately Michael would like to become a professional broadcaster with a special emphasis in the sports areas of basketball and football, presently though he is considering looking into teaching and coaching.

When asked what it is like to come back to the Mount in his new role, Michael said, “It is a big change because I see kids trying to get away with the same things I did” He finds adjusting to the role of being the authority figure challenging but feels he has a special advantage in “being able to understand where the kids are coming from because I went here and know what it is like to live and go to school here.

Alum, Joe Vacha '04 is an assistant dean and an assistant football coach. Joe is currently studying accounting at the University of Nebraska Omaha and is scheduled for a 2008 graduation date. Ultimately he is aiming to become a CPA. The past two summers, Joe has also worked as a groundskeeper for Mount Michael. He is known for putting in long hours of hard work but always is pleasant, up beat and eager to help.

Joe says what keeps him here is the wonderful environment and he enjoys the people. He also noted that you see a whole new side of the faculty that you don’t get when you are a student. In his free time Joe enjoys all kinds of sports activities and “studying accounting”.

Other young alumni currently working at Mount Michael are:
