Welcome Back Alums!

The first weekend in June has traditionally been alum weekend for us here at Mount Michael. It was again this year.

I am sure that many alums have mixed emotions about coming back, but I am also sure that many feel it is a bit like coming home – at least it seems that way when you see how much they enjoyed visiting and seeing one another. When the classes that are honored get together they reminisce and re-tell stories that get more embellished after each telling.

Mount Michael has its roots in St. John’s Seminary and so those alums are included from the very first days of the existence of this monastic community and the school. The class of 1966 had a good turn out this year. Congratulations to all of you on your 40th anniversary. Next year will be our first 50th anniversary! We are looking forward to it.

It was a great time to see everyone again and in future years we hope for even better turns outs for this occasion. Ask those who were here—I am sure that they will tell you that it was a good time.

Thanks to all who took the time to come and renew friendships and please encourage your other Mount Michael acquaintances to attend the event in future years.

We are hoping to have a very special event next year, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the monks’ arrival here at Mount Michael from Conception Abbey. We will keep you posted.
