Fr. Michael Liebl '69: Archdiocesan Teacher of the Year
From the Program: "Rev. Michael Liebl, OSB made vows as a member of the Benedictine community at Mount Michael Abbey in 1971. He was ordained at Mount Michael in 1977 and has been an instructor at Mount Michel Benedictine high School since that time. Although he has taught a variety of courses from 1977 to the present including mathematics, chemistry, electronics and computer programming, he has spent the majority of his time in the classroom as a physics instructor. Physics students from Mount Michael are currently engaged in the the Cosmic Ray Observatory Project. The project is a statewide program headed by the university of Nebraska-Lincoln that enlist high school students from across the state in a coordinated study of high-energy cosmic rays. Rev. Liebl has also been the coach of the school's tennis team, winning three consecutive state championships from 1989-1991. He also served many years as a Resident Dean living with the students in the school."
